A colorful and emotionally charged ceremony was held to honor the graduating Hifz students of the Al Mansur Orphanage’s Hifz Madrasa, a renowned religious institution located in Chandraganj, Lakshmipur.
The event took place on Saturday (April 18, 2026) at the Shah Wali Ullah Islamic Center Jame Mosque within the Al Mansur Orphanage Complex. Turbans, crests, and honorary awards were presented to the graduating students in recognition of their successful completion of Hifz (memorization of the Holy Qur’an).
Established by the late Hafez Nesar Uddin Ahmad (RA) and operated under the Shah Wali Ullah Islamic Center Bangladesh, the institution organized the program, which began at 9:00 AM. Graduating students were awarded crests, turbans, hijabs, and cash prizes.
The chief guest was Najmus Sa’dat Ahmed, Chairman of Shah Wali Ullah Islamic Center Bangladesh and Orphans Shelter Foundation (UK). Special guests included prominent journalist and Vice Chairman Selim Uddin Nizami, and Assistant Professor of Zillur Rahim College and Secretary of Al Mansur Orphanage, Md. Mamunur Rashid. Also present as a special guest was Mufti Syed Abdus Salam, Executive Member of Shah Wali Ullah Islamic Center Bangladesh and President of Muslim Ummah Bangladesh.
Among other notable figures were Engineer Muazzem Hossain from Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila and Anwar Elahi, Chairman of Hajirpara Insaf Medical Center, along with several respected local dignitaries.
The event was presided over by the President of Al Mansur Orphanage and former Principal of Jamirtoli Darus Sunnah Islamia (Senior) Alim Madrasa. Overall supervision of the program was conducted by Mawlana Md. Abdul Odud Patwary, Secretary of Shah Wali Ullah Islamic Center Bangladesh and Superintendent of Al Mansur Orphanage.
A total of 17 male and 3 female students who completed Hifz were each awarded a complete copy of the Holy Qur’an, a turban, a crest, and a cash prize of BDT 2,000. Additionally, the fathers of the students were honored with caps, and the mothers were presented with hijabs, adding a deeply emotional dimension to the event.
In his speech, the chief guest became emotional as he recalled his late father, stating that without his father’s initiative in establishing the institution, such achievements would not have been possible. He described the institution as a “garden of paradise” and expressed his desire to return not just as a guest, but as a guardian, aspiring to become the father of a Hafez. He was deeply moved by the recitations of the Qur’an by the students.
Students who secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions in the Islamia section were also awarded. The chief guest received a commemorative crest from the institution, along with special gifts from the teaching staff. Other special guests and members of the managing committee were also honored with gifts.
The event was conducted by Hafez Zahirul Islam and presented by A.H.M. Helalur Rahman. Assistant teachers present included Mawlana Md. Maksudur Rahman, Mawlana Md. Shihab Uddin, Mawlana Faruk Hossain Chowdhury, Mawlana Md. Yusuf Ali, Mawlana Md. Abdul Monayem, Qari Habibullah, Mawlana Mohammad Farhad, Md. Nazrul Islam, Ranik Islam, Alal Mia, Mawlana Sirajul Islam, Atikur Rahman, Mawlana Md. Abdur Rahim, and Md. Faisal Islam.
Assistant Hifz teachers present included Hafez Belal Hossain, Hafez Nahidul Islam, Hafez Tasnim Alam, Hafez Ibrahim Khalil, and Hafez Yakub Bin Yusuf.
Among the female teachers present were Yasmin Akter, Afifa Jannat Najiha, and Israt Jahan Meherun, along with others.
Guests, guardians, and members of the managing committee attended the event from various regions, including former UP member Md. Zahir Uddin and others.
Speakers highlighted the importance of religious education for orphaned and underprivileged students and expressed hope for the continued success of the institution.
The program concluded with a special prayer (dua) for the welfare of the country, the nation, and the Muslim Ummah. Participants offered heartfelt prayers for the bright future of the students. Speakers emphasized that memorizing the Qur’an is not merely an academic achievement but a sacred trust that plays a vital role in shaping moral values, humanity, and enlightened leadership in society.
It is noteworthy that Al Mansur Orphanage, located in Rataner Khil under Char Chammita Union of Chandraganj in Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila, has long been contributing significantly to the religious education of orphaned and underprivileged students. With the dedicated efforts of its skilled and experienced teachers, the institution continues to nurture students with both moral and modern education.
